The basis for all home technology systems is a sound wiring infrastructure. As a minimum, this needs to accommodate telephone, TV, and computer (Ethernet) wiring. Our infrastructure packages use EIA structured wiring techniques with a home-run architecture. Separate service wiring is run from each room location to a structured media hub in the basement or other convenient location. This architecture makes changes simple and allows features and services to be easily added as new technology becomes available. We use premium materials that offer essentially indefinite service life. Installing a comprehensive wiring system in your home is a relatively inexpensive investment if done during the construction phase before the drywall is hung. For this reason we recommend wiring more outlets than you think you may need. This is especially important in areas like the kitchen where the next generation of appliances are likely to connect to the internet to download cooking profiles and recipe information! |
